Default PvP Re-Entry Timer

ok...this is a suggestion to either a.) stop the revolution of "leavers" in PvP arenas or b.) piss off leavers or "syncers"

Basically if a player in RA or TA or AB or w/e leaves the battle before it starts or within a certain time limit of the battle they will then face this message when trying to re-enter "You must wait #:## more Minutes/Seconds before you can re-enter this PvP Mission!"

I know there are a ton of cons to this such as probably needing to work out a new method in which to determine who is really a leaver and who isn't (in terms of leaving in mid battle or having the "left the game" when a team has lost.)

But PvP wise, i think Leavers are the thing that has pissed me off the most out of everything in GW (other than the chimp brained Heroes and Henchmen).

Flame away :/

Hey, if you really need to go, then why should you care if you can't get back into RA?

Leavers need to be punished. RA is more competitive than the fun it used to be.

I think they should ban earth-tank griefers too.

Exactly, if a person has a valid reason to leave or need to go somewhere, then it wouldnt matter to them if they can't back in. It is for the syncers or idiots who leave when they see no monk, they are the ones that need this little countdown period.

I think an RA match is much more fun when you have all 4 people and try to actually work together...i am sure there are plenty of people who win matches even with 3 people just because they were able to work together.

What a fantastic idea. Anet has already RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up HA and GvG, so why not add RA to the mix as well.

First I'll say that I play in RA int a lot, where there are typically more players after streaks than in (what's a glad point?) american districts. Usually I'll leave a 2+ monk team immediately, and I'll leave if someone else leaves first, but if neither is the case than normally I'll play through the round as to not screw over the other 3 players.

That being said, generally, people don't leave for no reason -- That is, the most common reasons for leaving are either no monks, more than 1 monk, or a party of fools (saccer, mo/r mending bonder with a level 9 pet, etc). The simple fact is, a lot of people who RA are doing so in pursuit of glad titles. It's just quicker and easier to play RA than TA, and as the decline of GW continues (my friends list shrinks every month) forming organized TA groups will only become more difficult.

As I'm pretty sure anyone who's achieved a high level glad title through a lot of RA will tell you, your patience with RA decreases as your time spent increases. There comes a point when you just won't care enough to stay with a 3 monk team, because you have no shot at a glad point, and you're wasting the time of both teams involved. As long as TA is pointless, people will still play RA for glad points, and their patience for teams which have little to no shot at a streak will continue to decrease.

It's already a pretty slow grind getting glad points through RA, and if retarded blocks are put in place to prevent leaving, force you to play with bad teams, against runners, etc. then I'll simply have no reason to play RA at all. I only speak for myself of course, but judging by the people whom I see leaving 2 monk teams and such, it's oftentimes the people with glad titles who are guilty as charged. I suspect they would have similar reservations about such a system. Why would you want to drive away the few skilled players who actually bother with RA? It takes about 10-30 seconds to exit and find a new team.

Locking this thread, and all the other "Fix Leavers" threads in Sardelac, for the time being. When the new system is revealed, we'll look at it, look at these threads, and see if they need reopened or not. Until then, let's all be patient and see what we get.
